Our Knowledge Base: With our specialist knowledge, including databases of Messerschmitts worldwide, we can verify the provenance of any Messerschmitt.
Our Data: For the UK we are supported by factory invoices for 3,550 cars imported. Specific import data & importer history that includes the method of transportation including Railway Ferry Wagons used for through shipments to the UK. For the significant number of Messerschmitts delivered by air, the archive includes the airport used and subsequent research has identified the airlines and aircraft types.
V765/DVLA: Our DVLA accredited V765 officer is able to verify origin and documentation for UK registration purposes.
Dealer archives: including sales strategy & communications. Specific ledgers for the larger dealers that demonstrate how the sales were promoted.

The Messerschmitt Foundation of Great Britain exists to preserve, document, and celebrate the remarkable story of Messerschmitt microcars and Kabinenroller — the ingenious "cabin scooters" that returned affordable, weather-proof personal mobility to a recovering post-war Europe. Across Great Britain we work with owners, restorers, museums, and historians to keep this chapter of automotive history alive for new generations.
Our work spans vehicle verification — confirming provenance, chassis numbers, and original specification against archival records — alongside practical maintenance advice for the Fichtel & Sachs two-stroke engines, the sequential hand-shift gearboxes with their cockpit-side gear levers, and the aircraft-style acrylic canopies that make these machines so distinctive. We also organise and support community events, concours displays, technical workshops, and mentorship pairings between seasoned restorers and newcomers.
At the heart of our mission is the belief that preservation is a craft of shared knowledge.
